Cities
This body of work is inspired by the observation of the urban setting as a landscape where the balance between aesthetics and function is most evident. I am interested in the organisation of the urban centre stemming from modernist ideas and the essay Ornament and Crime (1908), by Adolf Loos, supporting functionality over aesthetics and symmetry. In this collection of works, the pattern of the labyrinth becomes a symbol of the urban structure as a human-made social environment that derives from a geometry of randomness. (2017-2019)
